We (mostly Sergio) got it to build, but it is still broken and we need
someone who understands php to finish the php 5 to php 7 conversion. The
package is still orphaned and will get removed in about a month if it
doesn't get fixed.
Unfortunately, I don't know PHP at all, else I'd volunteer to take a look.
Perhaps we could try pinging the PHP SIG, if you haven't already?
