Hi Rajesh and Team,
While working with Siebrand from Wikimedia during the language sprint happening
at Pune, Red Hat office, we have come across various issues to be fixed with respect
to FUEL terminologies, repo structure, etc.
Here goes the improvement suggestions.
1. Fix all the POT headers by adding #, Fuzzy
Should be lower case fuzzy.
2. Create definitions for all the POT terminology entries
3. Capitalization has to be taken care for every terminology entry
It should be consistent throughout the corpus. In my opinion title case, trailing colons
and ellipses, trailing whitespace, etc., should be avoided to allow the highest possible
hit rates from translation memories. Keep the strings as clean as possible.
Also look at A/b vs. A/B which I've observed to be present inconsistently. This might
result in one or more upstream change requests.
4. Prepare contextual information for every terminology entry
5. Some entries from Desktop and Web modules requires fixing trailing space, e.g.
"Print" , "Move All Contact to", "Multimedia System
Selector", "Friend of ", "Log in ", "Publish immediately
"
6. Remove duplicate entries like "create a list" and "news feed"
7. Trailing elipses (...) and trailing colons (:) needs to be removed
8. Style guide related matters should move to the respective guides rather than
terminology DB
Style guide should contain information on proper addition of ellipsis, colons,
semi-colons, punctuation for bullet lists.
The GIT repo structure should go like this:
`-- fuel
|-- as
| `-- terminology
| |-- desktop
| | |-- cdac.po

I think that if language codes are used for almost everything, they should be used for
everything :). Might as well use en/ or enUS/ here.

Please do share your ideas, if anybody on the list come across any other suggestions or
improvements what we have in the proposal as shown above.
Nice work, Ankit.
Cheers!
