Hi
I proud to announce that we prepared first draft for "Style and Convention
Guide for Punjabi" in Open Source.
*Purpose of this Style Guide is to provide guidlines for the
localizer/Translators to translate Open Source Softwares in Punjabi
(Gurmukhi Script).*
*A proper communications is very much necessary particularly in the case of
Open Source and Free software communities
where continuously new translators are joining in their community team and
start working on their language.*
*They should know the method and ways by which translation are being done
in the community*.
Please go through it and send us feedback at
fuel-discuss(a)lists.fedorahosted.org

Hi,
As planned, FUEL-Kannada evaluation meet was conducted on January 28th and
29th 2012 at Centre for Internet and Society (CIS), Bangalore with help of
Red Hat and Sanchaya (sanchaya.net) There were about 14 people on day one
and 8 on day two. Attendees were from various backgrounds like Wiktionary
contributors, wikipedia contributors, journalists, linguistics, content
writers, common users etc. We even had a Kannada television and movie
actress, poet (Jayalaxmi Pati <http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3600221/>l) with
us!
All the attendees involved actively in the discussion and helped
terminology standardization process.
Soon I will release the evaluated list of FUEL-Kannada glossary and upload
it in the FUEL website.
I thank all the participants, CIS, Red Hat and Sanchaya for success of this
event.
Shankar
Hallo everybody
As I've mentioned on this list before, Virtaal incorporates all the
latest FUEL term lists for translators of the relevant languages. A
student at the University of Mainz in Germany, Almana Mukabenova, is now
doing some research on the usability of Virtaal. She prepared a
questionnaire for the purposes of her master's thesis:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NV9YFJR
I'm very interested to see what comes out of this, and want to encourage
all users of Virtaal (past and present, serious and casual) to take part
if they can.
Please spread this to your communities by whatever mediums is
appropriate so that the questionnaire can reach a wide variety of
opinions.
Thanks!
Friedel
