Hi,

I am wondering:

1 - Does the 389 server support aliases? I can't make it work and saw on a few old forum posts that it doesn't.

Do you mean attribute name with aliases ? like

( 0.9.2342.19200300.100.1.20 NAME ( 'homePhone' 'homeTelephoneNumber' )  EQUALITY telephoneNumberMatch SUBSTR telephoneNumberSubstringsMatch SYNTAX 1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.50 X-ORIGIN 'RFC 4524' X-DEPRECATED 'homeTelephoneNumber' )

No, I mean alias to another entry, as in `objectClass: alias` and `aliasedobjectname` attribute pointing to another entry.

2 - I am working on a new attribute type and wonder how can I add a constraint so that its value on an entry must be unique across the directory. Any tips?

Does attribute uniqueness plugin [1] addresses your needs ? where you set uniqueness-attribute-name with your attribute name.

It seems it does. Thanks a lot Thierry!
