The usual command I ran on Ubuntu (probably similar to other linux platforms):
sudo apt update sudo apt install freeipa-client sudo hostname (to check if you have a qualified hostname, if not, set it) sudo ipa-client-install --hostname=`hostname -f` --mkhomedir —server=ipa.example.com --domain example.com --realm IPA.EXAMPLE.COM
