https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=527141
Summary: Using Droid Sans as application font causes problems with Adobe apps Product: Fedora Version: rawhide Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: medium Priority: low Component: google-droid-fonts AssignedTo: nicolas.mailhot@laposte.net ReportedBy: michael.silvanus@gmail.com QAContact: extras-qa@fedoraproject.org CC: nicolas.mailhot@laposte.net, fedora-fonts-bugs-list@redhat.com Classification: Fedora
Description of problem: With both Adobe AIR and Adobe Reader, using the Droid Sans font as the application font causes rendering problems: all characters are rendered as rectangular boxes
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): google-droid-sans-fonts-20090906-5.fc12.noarch pango-1.26.0-1.fc12.x86_64 pango-1.26.0-1.fc12.i686
How reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open GNOME Appearance Preferences 2. Set Application font to "Droid Sans" 3. Start acroread (RPM: AdobeReader_enu) or Adobe AIR installer (RPM: adobeair1.0) both are from Adobe's yum repository: http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/linux/i386/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rp...

--- Comment #3 from Michel Alexandre Salim michael.silvanus@gmail.com 2009-10-04 18:51:29 EDT --- The Adobe AIR installer is actually here: http://get.adobe.com/air/
It registers itself in RPMDB after installation, but is not part of Adobe's Yum repository -- yet.

--- Comment #4 from Michel Alexandre Salim michael.silvanus@gmail.com 2009-10-04 19:14:12 EDT --- This problem, interestingly, does not occur on a 32-bit installation, only when running Adobe Reader (a 32-bit app) on a 64-bit install.

--- Comment #5 from Behdad Esfahbod besfahbo@redhat.com 2009-10-05 15:33:46 EDT --- Problem seems to be in either cairo-ft or freetype. Need someone to debug, to see where the out-of-memory status is coming from. I don't have access to a 64bit machine.
