You all should have received an email as you were added to sched as a speaker. Please take a moment to add your bio and picture to your entry.
Also, please look over the schedule one last time and make sure that everything looks correct to you and that you do not see any bugs. We moved a few items since the last revision to attempt to resolve the issues raised.
Thanks,

Much as I hate to bring up another issue, do we really want to have "Governance of Fedora under Fedora.next" running directly opposite "Fedora.next and the fate of spins"? That seems to me to have a pretty high overlap of interested attendees.
Maybe one or the other of the two could be swapped with the Hyperkitty workshop on Saturday?

Not entirely sure I see that overlap. We could swap the governance workshop with the "OpenStack" workshop on Saturday if you think that works better...
We're trying not to swap between days at this point, especially Saturday, because the more "popular" workshops will need larger room space that isn't available on Saturday.

Christoph Wickert is running the spins talk. I can easily see him wanting to be involved in the governance talk too, but beyond that I agree the overlap might not necessarily be all that high.

FWIW, as organizer of the OpenStack workshop, I don't mind it being swapped.

We'll see what we can do, but as Spot said it is difficult to move things around at this point. We cannot accommodate every individual's desires to be at every session they wish to be at.

Sure, I do not expect that the schedule be changed just on my preferences. Just wanted to second an opinion that echoed my view. If it possible, great... if not, I will choose one.

When is this going public? More specifically, should I include it in 5 Things in Fedora This Week going out in about an hour, or should I hold it for next week?

It's effectively public right now, with the caveat that we reserve the right to make minor changes to the schedule.

Nice, can you add the link to the Flock website? As I'd say it should be the main source.
Btw. who's responsible for web/can give acls? I have a few ideas, it needs some work and I can do it to help a bit :).

Now that it's all finalized, of course. We're using sched again, too, so we had to get it in there as well.

I can give you an account. 4 or 5 people (I've lost track!) in the last few months have volunteered to work on it, and then none of them have actually done anything, so be careful... apparently it causes you to not be able to work. :D

Ok, so http://flocktofedora.com/schedule/ is updated. Not yet visible as I can't get embed sched working.
"You need to be logged into your site (flock2014.sched.org) in order to preview the Embed.
Once you buy the Embed add-on, it will work without logging in."
Do we have embed add-on available for flock2014? Or how does that "log in to the site" works? Any idea? :) On the other hand, link is still enough than paying 5 hundred bucks for Pro sched.
Otherwise only a few edits will be needed in About section to reflect we're post submission (I can update it now and then update again once schedule is out). And we should send announcement to the lists/social media. I can take care of it too.

Uh.
I suggest next time we do not spend $99 on a proprietary service that is asking for all kinds of personal data but use a true FLOSS alternative like Pentabarf [1] for free.
Best regards, Christoph

Obviously we looked for FOSS options first last year and came up pretty short on workable options. I don't recall whether we looked at Pentabarf specifically (what a name!), but I'm a little concerned about the likelihood of success using a project whose mailing list link is broken and last update was four years ago.

It also seems to lack a mobile version of the site or an app in the various app stores. I could be wrong, so if I am please correct me. It's hard to tell from the site.
While the app aspect is still along the lines of "non-FLOSS ecosystem", ignoring mobile seems like a pretty major oversight. People use their mobile devices for many things, and I recall several people being happy to have the Flock schedule easily accessible via their phone last year.

I learned last year that if you sign up with Facebook, Sched asks for all sorts of personal information, but if you create an account directly, it does not.
I agree that using a FLOSS alternative would be better, but we want that, I think we need to focus on doing it rather than suggesting it. Because suggesting is easy and putting together a conference is not.
OpenConferenceWare from OS Bridge might be another one to look at -- https://github.com/osbridge/openconferenceware. There's an open source Android app, although that appears quite out of date. https://code.osuosl.org/projects/ocw-android

Right, that's the one. Sched asks for access to it far beyond what they might need for the conference.

Devconf2014 had an Android app too. I thought it was quite nice, but I have no idea who wrote it or if it was open source (note: the schedule itself was also on sched.org).

For Devconf, we had not only Android version, but also BlackBerry 10, Jolla and N9 versions. It should be actually pretty easy to get the schedule down from the sched and create the app for Flock. Let me take a look, I was in the team (Ludek did Android, Joejoe N9/Jolla and I did BB10). Btw. we used sched for the same reason as it's used for Flock - there's really no viable open source option and what's worst - even Sched sucks a lot.
Let me talk to the guys, we can solve mobile app part but we can't do anything with Sched :).

I let go the web site of FUDCon LATAM and people that took the task end up choosing COD with the comment that "was as good as the app chosen for flock" ... Mayorga is working with Drupal, so I guess he is comfortable building a site with Drupal modules better that implementing something brand new to him.
https://drupal.org/project/cod_support
So there is that another option as well. I think that the key for success in conference software is the people making sure the system is working and the data is accurate.
