Hi guys,
a bit late here's the recap of the discussion followed the talk at Flock.
First let me share the slides I guessed I would have to follow [1] but soon I changed the order due to the discussion that started quickly, so the talk went ahead without a real slides order.
IMO it was a success because the discussion covered the whole time available and followed several ways.
Thankfully Pete was attending so we was able to talk in a couple of directions.
Decause and gnokii were the main active attendees.
The conversation was related to:
1) the merge of the join processes, or their main parts, of the groups; I understood that this can be a great solution for the project and a big deal for the newbies that could have an unambiguous point of access to the project. The only question is "how many groups will agreed"?
2) the join to fed-join: how many people from other groups will join this group? And in which way? (mentorship? Linking the right group? Giving advices?)
3) Ambassadors along their events, do they have to indicate to people wishing to join the main join-page[2] or the fedora-join group?
4) Easyfix: I admit I didn't follow completely this discussion among Decause, Sirko and Pete because I was engaged to try to restore the wifi connection :-( Pete could be more accurate.
5) In a previous talk, Mairin, explaining hubs concepts, guessed about a complete revision of the fedora join mainpage [2], that should be customised for the new fp.o in the future. Due to that I dropped this part of discussion.
Of course I forgot something and if Pete has something to put on the table, please do :-)
Thanks.
Gabri

There's quite a bit here and instead of an e-mail discussion, I'd prefer a meeting. Any one game for a meeting next week? I'll set up a doodle and all that?
I think a meeting would be a good idea - even at Flock, there was a lot of discussion and interest in the topic, so I think that might be a good way of going about it. I would be interested in a meeting next week.

Hi Ankur Please explain to me what is the role of the package manager. Does it also include code changes or is it Q/A, rebuild rpms and move towards distribution? I have time on my hands and can undertake some of what you do. Regards Leslie Mr. Leslie Satenstein Montréal Québec, Canada
