I am basically a new comer here. I was a non-participant, but linux user for a long while,
until I retired on 31 Dec 2013, when I became proactive.
I am not an expert, but have 55 years in IT doing system configuration, capacity planning,
performance tuning, system modelling and system / network architecture (physical).
I have worked as a designer, developer, project manager, team leader in ERP, touching all
kinds of business systems in discrete manufacturing, aerospace, process control,
warehousing, logistics and the like. Along the way I taught programming, logistics and
university level mathematics.
Currently I am writing some code to look at security, and the need to help companies
comply with legal requirements (Sarabannes Oxley law).
Yes, 55 years in IT is many many years to work, and it took that long for me to obtain my
experience and knowledge.
Where I see my role, is in testing (Q/A) and in mentoring.
