Hi!
My name is Renn. I'm an undergraduate computer science student from
Colorado in the United States. I like running, speedcubing, and a lot of
topics in computer science. I'm a member of my school's Linux User Group,
and I am really passionate about free and open source software.
I am a strong writer (in English only), and I have some software
engineering-adjacent skills like Git and using the command line. I am most
familiar with Python and Java, but I also have some familiarity with
languages like C and C++, and basic web development with HTML, CSS,
JavaScript, PHP, and React.
I have only briefly contributed to open source software before — I fixed a
couple of bugs in a video game mod a few months ago — but, otherwise, I am
new to contributing to FOSS. I am excited to meet new people who are also
passionate about FOSS, and I would love to contribute once I get more
familiar with the community!
I have been exclusively using GNU/Linux as my desktop operating system for
around two years now, and I would estimate that I have been using Fedora
for around 5 months now.
I haven't used a mailing list before, and my preferred platform for
communication is Matrix. I think I can comfortably spend around 2-3 hours
per week volunteering.
I'm looking forward to meeting more of you soon! The Fedora community has
been excellent to me, so I am really excited to participate :)
Renn
