Hello Fedora Community,
I’m Chinmay Kulkarni (nickname MuteBurrito), currently working as a Build Engineer at Ubisoft in India. I’ve always been passionate about technology and how it empowers people and recently, I decided that I want to move fully into using and contributing to Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). Fedora, with its open, community-driven values, really aligns with that goal.
About me:
I have around 6 years of experience in build and automation engineering, and I’m proficient in Python and C#. Over the past year, I’ve been focusing on DevOps technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and AWS, with the long-term goal of becoming a strong DevOps/SRE professional.
I use Linux (Fedora Workstation + WSL) as part of my daily workflow and enjoy tinkering with system setups, automating tasks, and learning how things work under the hood.
My FOSS journey:
While I’m new to contributing to FOSS projects, I’ve been using open-source tools for years and have learned a lot from the community. Joining Fedora feels like the right next step to start giving back, even if it’s through small PRs, testing, documentation, or helping others in the community.
Communication & collaboration:
I’m comfortable with mailing lists, Matrix, and chat-based discussions. I’m already part of Fedora’s Matrix space, which has been really welcoming. I also use Discord and Telegram frequently for technical discussions and learning groups.
Availability:
I plan to dedicate around 4–6 hours a week to Fedora contributions, mostly during evenings or weekends.
How I found Fedora
I came across Fedora through various Linux/DevOps communities that I follow. The openness, professionalism, and the sense of purpose here immediately drew me in.
A bit more about me:
Outside of work and tech, I love PC building, music, movies (especially fantasy and sci-fi genres), and hiking whenever I get the chance.
I’m really excited to start contributing and learning with you all. Please feel free to suggest where someone with my background could start I’m open to helping in areas like automation, packaging, or infrastructure.
Looking forward to collaborating with everyone!
Cheers,
MuteBurrito
