Fedora EPEL 8 Update: gcc-epel-8.4.1-3.el8
by updates@fedoraproject.org
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2021-5848dcbea8
2021-09-27 01:39:43.836931
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : gcc-epel
Product : Fedora EPEL 8
Version : 8.4.1
Release : 3.el8
URL : http://gcc.gnu.org
Summary : Various compilers (C, C++, Objective-C, ...)
Description :
The gcc package contains the GNU Compiler Collection version 8.
You'll need this package in order to compile C code.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
Transformation of the GNU Compiler Collection from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
(gcc-8.4.1-1.el8) into gcc-epel to achieve the missing RPM packages for
Ada/GNAT, GCC JIT, Go, Objective-C and Objective-C++ that Red Hat decided to
remove (see: [Considerations in adopting RHEL
8](https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-
us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/8/html/considerations_in_adopting_rhel_8/compilers-
and-development-tools_considerations-in-adopting-rhel-8), and this also won't
change as per [bug
#1826731](https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1826731)). Important:
Please use `gnatgcc`, `gobjc` or `gobjc++` rather than `gcc` for a GCC with
Ada/GNAT, Objective-C or Objective-C++ support because `gcc` is unfortunately
not really modular and was also built without support for these programming
languages by Red Hat (or a vendor of a 100% bug-for-bug compatible drop-in
distribution).

Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2021-32b94c3fef

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : TeXmacs
Product : Fedora EPEL 8
Version : 2.1
Release : 1.el8
URL : http://www.texmacs.org
Summary : Structured WYSIWYG scientific text editor
Description :
GNU TeXmacs is a free scientific text editor, which was both inspired
by TeX and GNU Emacs. The editor allows you to write structured
documents via a WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) and user
friendly interface. New styles may be created by the user. The
program implements high-quality typesetting algorithms and TeX fonts,
which help you to produce professionally looking documents.
The high typesetting quality still goes through for automatically
generated formulas, which makes TeXmacs suitable as an interface for
computer algebra systems. TeXmacs also supports the Guile/Scheme
extension language, so that you may customize the interface and write
your own extensions to the editor.
In the future, TeXmacs is planned to evolve towards a complete
scientific office suite, with spreadsheet capacities, a technical
drawing editor and a presentation mode.
