Fedora EPEL 6 Update: owncloud-7.0.4-3.el6
by updates@fedoraproject.org
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2015-1155
2015-03-08 20:53:59
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : owncloud
Product : Fedora EPEL 6
Version : 7.0.4
Release : 3.el6
URL : http://owncloud.org
Summary : Private file sync and share server
Description :
ownCloud gives you universal access to your files through a web interface or
WebDAV. It also provides a platform to easily view & sync your contacts,
calendars and bookmarks across all your devices and enables basic editing right
on the web. ownCloud is extendable via a simple but powerful API for
applications and plugins.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This update provides ownCloud 7.x (7.0.4, currently) for EPEL 6. It brings EPEL 6 into line with EPEL 7, Fedora 20, and Fedora 21.
This is a MAJOR version upgrade in line with the ownCloud package update policy: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/OwnCloud#ownCloud_package_update_policy . Please ensure you back up your user data, ownCloud configuration, and database before installing the updated packages and running the upgrade process.
Please note that the Apache configuration has been refined in this update. If you have edited /etc/httpd/conf.d/owncloud.conf , please examine the updated package version (which should be installed as owncloud.conf.rpmnew) and merge in any appropriate changes. In particular you should add the line:
Alias /owncloud/apps-appstore /var/lib/owncloud/apps
to ensure the 'app store' feature works correctly. If you simply want a standard ownCloud installation with remote access enabled (by default access is permitted only from localhost for security purposes), we now recommend you leave all the Apache configuration files in the package untouched and run this command:
ln -s /etc/httpd/conf.d/owncloud-access.conf.avail /etc/httpd/conf.d/z-owncloud-access.conf
this should ensure things continue to work automatically through future updates, as owncloud-access.conf.avail will be updated to always grant access to the appropriate locations for the version of ownCloud it is packaged with.
