Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2012-0588

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : snappy
Product : Fedora EPEL 6
Version : 1.0.5
Release : 1.el6
URL : http://code.google.com/p/snappy/
Summary : Fast compression and decompression library
Description :
Snappy is a compression/decompression library. It does not aim for maximum
compression, or compatibility with any other compression library; instead, it
aims for very high speeds and reasonable compression. For instance, compared to
the fastest mode of zlib, Snappy is an order of magnitude faster for most
inputs, but the resulting compressed files are anywhere from 20% to 100%
bigger.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This is a maintenance release that provides faster decompression. For a complete list of changes see:
http://snappy.googlecode.com/svn-history/r61/trunk/NEWS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This update can be installed with the "yum" update programs. Use
su -c 'yum update snappy' at the command line.

URL : http://www.networkupstools.org/
Summary : Network UPS Tools
Description :
These programs are part of a developing project to monitor the assortment
of UPSes that are found out there in the field. Many models have serial
ports of some kind that allow some form of state checking. This
capability has been harnessed where possible to allow for safe shutdowns,
live status tracking on web pages, and more.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
- update to 2.6.3
- users of the megatec and megatec_usb drivers must switch to
blazer_ser or blazer_usb respectively
- users of the liebertgxt2 driver are advised that the driver
name has changed to liebert-esp2

Name : python-auth-credential
Product : Fedora EPEL 5
Version : 0.5
Release : 2.el5
URL : http://mpaladin.web.cern.ch/mpaladin/python/auth.credential/
Summary : Python abstraction of a credential
Description :
This module offers an abstraction of a credential, i.e. something that
can be used to authenticate. It allows the creation and manipulation of
credentials. In particular, it defines a standard string representation
(so that credentials can be given to external programs as command line
options), a standard structured representation (so that credentials can
be stored in structured configuration files or using JSON) and
"preparators" that can transform credentials into ready-to-use data for
well known targets.
The python module auth.credential is compatible with the Perl
module Authen::Credential.

Name : perl-Params-Classify
Product : Fedora EPEL 5
Version : 0.013
Release : 5.el5
URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Params-Classify/
Summary : Argument type classification
Description :
This module provides various type-testing functions. These are intended
for functions that, unlike most Perl code, care what type of data they
are operating on. For example, some functions wish to behave
differently depending on the type of their arguments (like overloaded
functions in C++).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : apcupsd
Product : Fedora EPEL 6
Version : 3.14.8
Release : 4.el6
URL : http://www.apcupsd.com
Summary : APC UPS Power Control Daemon for Linux
Description :
Apcupsd can be used for controlling most APC UPSes. During a
power failure, apcupsd will inform the users about the power
failure and that a shutdown may occur. If power is not restored,
a system shutdown will follow when the battery is exausted, a
timeout (seconds) expires, or the battery runtime expires based
on internal APC calculations determined by power consumption
rates. If the power is restored before one of the above shutdown
conditions is met, apcupsd will inform users about this fact.
Some features depend on what UPS model you have (simple or smart).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
- do not remove nologin file on apcupsd startup

Summary : A parallel remote execution system
Description :
Salt is a distributed remote execution system used to execute commands and
query data. It was developed in order to bring the best solutions found in
the world of remote execution together and make them better, faster and more
malleable. Salt accomplishes this via its ability to handle larger loads of
information, and not just dozens, but hundreds or even thousands of individual
servers, handle them quickly and through a simple and manageable interface.
