Hi,
We are in the process of rebasing libgit2 and python-pygit2 from 0.21 to 0.24 in epel7.
This brings several API changes for the libgit2 C library, so if you are using it, please
make sure to get your code working with the newer library.
To make transition easier, the C library update, libgit2-0.24.6-1.el7 keeps temporary ABI
compatibility with libgit2 0.21, which we are planning on supporting until September 2017.
During that time, all users are strongly encouraged to recompile against the newer libgit2
0.24 headers to switch to the new 0.24 ABI.
As for the Python bindings, the python-pygit2-0.24.2-1.el7 update is currently in testing
with lots of positive feedback already received. We are just waiting on the Fedora
Infrastructure team to finish testing the update for any incompatibilities as most of
Fedora infrastructure runs on epel7.
Rebuilds for other epel7 libgit2 consumers are being worked on and will be pushed out
during the ABI compatibility window that lasts until September.
Thanks for the attention.
Cheers,
Pete
