Thanks. I fixed this by changing the reposdir=/etc/yum.163.yum.repos.d to /etc/yum.repos.d/, then the epel repository can be found.

Have a look at "yum repolist all", then enable the ones you want, either
permanently with yum-config-manager or by editing the file directly in
/etc/yum/repos.d, or temporarily when you issue a yum command with the
--enablerepo=epel switch (or whichever repo you want)/
