I'd like to get Mark to repeat his regression tests again. (Sorry!) This fix should be safe, but it is touching same of the same code that was affected in the fixes for Mark's issues.

I am seeing some issues with the new code (sorry). I added some comments to the bug report. http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=10088

Also investigating some changes in the build_id vaddr logic, which seem to pop up with the new code. Will report when I figure out if it is an stap or libdwfl issue.
