Description of problem:
I don't know if this problem is actually part of eclipse, or something more
basic like gtk3, but I've only seen this problem when using eclipse.
When scrolling *down* in an editor window, the horizontal scrollbar creates,
for lack of a better term, "ghost" images of itself over the contents. This
obscures the contents of the editor window, forcing you to do something to
redraw it, like clicking out and then back into the window.
The problem is ONLY when scrolling down because the horizontal scrollbar is at
the bottom of the window, whatever display corruption happens when scrolling
*up* is wiped at the edge of the window.
There is also corruption visible within the vertical scrollbar.
Compared to Fedora 21, the scrollbars appear to be drawn differently. In Fedora
21, the scrollbars are permanent and outside of the editor window. In Fedora
22, the scrollbars fade in and out overtop of the editor window.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Luna SR2
How reproducible:
Always.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a long file in eclipse editor,
2. scroll down in the file while the horizontal scrollbar is visible,
3. Observe corruption.
Actual results:
Editor window is obscured by ghosts of the horizontal scrollbar.
Expected results:
Editor window should be clear and its contents visible.
Additional info:
I'm using MATE desktop, but was able to reproduce with Cinnamon.
Device is HP folio 9480m with Intel Haswell Mobile graphics.
Booting with "nomodeset xdriver=vesa" has no impact.
