Hey folks,
Fedora 41 is expected to be released around/after 2024-10-15:
https://fedorapeople.org/groups/schedule/f-41/f-41-key-tasks.html
.NET 6 is expected to reach its End of Life on 2024-11-12:
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/platform/support/policy/dotnet-core#life…
To avoid releasing a new version of Fedora with a version of .NET that
reaches EOL in a few weeks, I have retired .NET 6 from Rawhide
(which will branch to Fedora 41 in a few months).
I plan to continue to update .NET 6 in all released branches (40, 39)
until upstream stops releasing updates.
I also plan to add .NET 9 to Fedora soon-ish, and to continue to
maintain .NET 8 until that reaches EOL.
Cheers,
Omair

Hey folks,
Fedora 40 is expected to be released around/after 2024-04-16:

.NET 7 is expected to reach its End of Life on 2024-05-14:
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/platform/support/policy/dotnet-core#life…
To avoid releasing a new version of Fedora with a version of .NET that
reaches EOL in a few weeks, I have retired .NET 7 from Rawhide
(which will branch to Fedora 40 in a few weeks).
I plan to continue to update .NET 7 in all released branches (38, 39)
until upstream stops releasing updates.
Similar to .NET 7, I plan to retire .NET 6 later this year (so it
doesn't get included in Fedora 41).
I plan to continue to maintain .NET 8 until that reaches EOL.
Cheers,
Omair
