Hello Everyone.
I am a newbie, and unfortunately, have been a newbie for a very long time now. The two biggest hurdles that are stopping me from making any progress are
- I am afraid I might break something
I wouldn't be afraid of breaking anything. Our source repositories have the ability to roll back any changes that were made.
- I can't figure out where I can fit in the docs team.
I haven't seen you in the Docs IRC room or at any of the meetings. Have you been interacting with other members? I wonder what your interests are and if those interests could translate into work in an existing guide or a new guide.
To solve the first problem, I want to ask if it is possible to start a "Hello World" doc: A doc meant exclusively for newbies, that never gets published for any release, where everyone is welcome to jump in and get comfortable with the process without worrying about breaking something.
I like this idea. Of course you could do this on your own by generating a guide, new or existing, on your own computer.
Can this be done?
If you would like to have a git repository to experiment with I'm sure that can be arranged. Otherwise you can create and build your own guides on your computer using Publican.
