I don't think that likely. Even 5 needs some backwards compatibility.

IMO, use of <section> makes a document much more modular, in the
sense that it may later be incorporated into another document. I
can't recall where, but some 'best practices' presentation/doc I've
seen recommends moving to <section>.
Modifying sect1 to section isn't too hard,
and the content models are near as damn it identical Mark?
