GSoC Idea - Anerist
by Zach Oglesby
We have finished typing up our idea[1] for Anerist[2] this year in
Google Summer of Code. This project is working to create a new tool
chain for document creation that is not tied to a specific markup
language while still providing high quality finished products that users
expect form software products.
This project is vitally important to the efforts of the Fedora
Documentation team as the current tools are out dated and create a large
barrier to entry for new contributors. The days of people being willing
to learn Docbook are long past, today people want to write in Markdown,
reStructuredText, asciidoc, or whatever their favorite markup language
is.
Anerist is the tool to provide that way forward for new contributors,
Fedora, and other projects looking to create world class documentation.
If you are looking for a challenging Python project that will help to
move a project forward please consider making a proposal[3] to work on
Anerist this summer.

Intro
by Ryan Mason
Hi all, My name is Ryan and I'm new to the mailing list, although some of you may have seen me loitering around reddit or IRC.
I've never contributed to something like this before, but I want to contribute as I have a strong passion for linux and open source, and want to one day work at Red Hat - I thought what better place to start than within the Fedora community.
I am a so-so coder and designer, but thought both CommOps and Docs might be somewhere where I can add some value to the project.
Life is pretty hectic at the moment with full-time work, part-time study and baby number one on the way, but I hope to be able to contribute regularly!
My 9-5 is that of a project estimator, however I am studying computer science and taking certifications when I can. Hopefully I can leverage some of my skills I've picked up in the 33 years I've been stomping around the planet to assist the project!
Regards,
Ryan

Hello there,
I just joined the list and I'm excited about being able to contribute to Fedora's documentation! Kushal Das pointed me in this direction after I did some writing about systemd-networkd.
I work on all things virtualization and OpenStack at Rackspace and I write regularly for our company blog and my personal blog[1]. I enjoy writing more comprehensive, functional documentation that shows people how to connect a few different technologies or tools to accomplish something. As an example, I've written some things around systemd-networkd that helps users make sense of the disparate systemd documentation on freedesktop.org. I'd like to do more of this formally for Fedora if possible.
As far as more formal writing goes, I've recently completed a peer-reviewed research paper about Linux container security[2]. This is really fun for me, too.
I'll be in the 5PM session here at Flock today to learn more about how I can contribute!

by Jan Kurik
Join us on irc.freenode.net in #fedora-meeting for the Fedora 24 Alpha
Release Readiness Meeting meeting.
The meeting is going to be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 19:00 UTC.
Please check the [FedoCal] link for your time zone.
We will meet to make sure we are coordinated and ready for the Alpha
release of Fedora 24 on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016. Please note that
this meeting is going to be held even if the release is delayed at the
Go/No-Go meeting on the same day two hours earlier.
You may received this message several times, but I was asked to open
this meeting to the teams and I'll also hope this will raise awareness
and more team representatives will come to this meeting. This meeting
works best when we have representatives from all of the teams.
