changes in docs-commits emails
by Karsten Wade
10:21 < nb> FYI in case it affects your filters, the /cvs/fedora
commit emails will be going to
docs-commits(a)lists.fedoraproject.org sometime soon instead
of fedora-docs-commits(a)redhat.com
10:21 < nb> not sure if anyone filters on to, or if everyone uses
list-id, but anyway i figured id mention it
The only code we have in CVS is the stuff that creates
docs.fedoraproject.org. The configuration there was still sending to
fedora-docs-commits(a)redhat.com, and it is now changed to
docs-commits(a)lists.fedoraproject.org.
If you have an SCM repo that is sending commit information to this
team, it should point at the new docs-commits(a)lists.fp.org.

[Fwd: [In the news] Fedora 13 - Ubuntu's smart but less attractive cousin]
by Paul W. Frields
See especially the last point in Rahul's email to the Marketing list.
We need to make sure the IG and the release notes both point out the
element of the separate /home -- which is correct, by the way.
My recollection is that David Nalley got this change already for the
IG, but we may want to add it to the Installer beat for the release
notes so we catch it during the content party.
----- Forwarded message from Rahul Sundaram <> -----
Hi
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/04/13/fedora_13_beta_review/
Perspective: We need to advertise the end user facing features more
loudly. Ubuntu includes gwibber and a applet and advertises it as
social networking built-in. We do have similar features: Pino is
default for Fedora 13. If we can get the one page release notes effort
pushed forward, it would help.
Factual corrections: Feel free to post them to the site. I don't have
a account there yet. mesa-dri-drivers-experimental is not a separate
driver. GNOME version is 2.30
Release notes: Does Anaconda create a separate /home only if the
available space is more than 50 GB? Such details need to go into the
release notes.

Readme-Burning-ISOs

Hash: SHA1
Is there a reason we haven't pushed the latest version of
"Readme-Burning-ISOs"? It doesn't look like the guide has been changed
since last October but there is definitely an older version on the
docs.fp.o.

Pre-porting party and training
by Paul W. Frields
We have been discussing a training session and orientation to get new
contributors ready to help us with porting content from the wiki into
Publican.
This would consist of two parts:
* 2010-04-14, next Tuesday after our meeting (actually Wednesday at
0001 UTC, which is 8:01pm US-Eastern time) -- an orientation in
#fedora-docs describing how this process works, why it's important,
and how easy it is to help.
* 2010-04-17, next Friday evening US-Eastern time, we'll gather anyone
who wants to help, and make sure they have any group memberships or
other assistance they need for the actual porting.
The porting of content will happen between 2010-04-19, when the
release notes on the wiki freeze, and 2010-04-26, when the last POT/PO
files need to be in the hands of L10n. Hopefully there will be very
little to do, if we're keeping up with things as we go.
People interested in release notes will want to have the beat pages on
their wiki watchlist (you can set this up in your personal
preferences) so they know when changes happen.
