McD back (sort of)
by John J. McDonough
I have been out of town on a family emergency, and almost totally
disconnected for most of that time. Feels like I've been in the
nineteenth century.
I'm back home now, but I have a report to get out to the State Police in
a couple of days, and literally thousands of emails to wade through, so
it will probably take until sometime next week before I'm really back.
Sounds like everyone has been keeping it between the lines while I've
been gone. Thanks everyone!

Amateur Radio Guide for F14
by Eric Christensen
I took the "bold" action of branching and commenting out all
incomplete sections of the Amateur Radio Guide so we could get this
published for F14. There were a lot of sections removed but the guide
does contain some useful information. It has been submitted for
translation.
I'd like to get that guide ready for F15. If we can't get it complete
then we should be able to cover the main programs that are used. I'm
open to ideas and suggestions.

Published Guides
by Eric Christensen
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I just published the Accessibility Guide, Readme Burning ISOs, and
Security Guide in all languages that are at least 90% translated. These
should be showing up on the docs.fp.o website shortly. Please let me
know if there are any problems.
Also, I've noticed that someone from the Spanish translation team has
been publishing their guides when they are complete. Thanks! If any
other individual/team would like to do this as well please let me know
and I'll get you setup with the tools you need to make this happen.
Thanks to all the translators for your hard work!

Revised wording for Feedback section
by Ruediger Landmann
Hi all:
The start of each of our manuals contains a "Feedback" section that
tells readers how to report bugs against the document. Last week, Sparks
and I started wondering if the wording could be improved a little.
========
Present wording:
"We Need Feedback!
If you find a typographical error in this manual, or if you have thought
of a way to make this manual better, we would love to hear from you!
Please submit a report in Bugzilla: http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/
against the product Fedora Documentation.
When submitting a bug report, be sure to mention the manual's
identifier: install-guide
If you have a suggestion for improving the documentation, try to be as
specific as possible when describing it. If you have found an error,
please include the section number and some of the surrounding text so we
can find it easily. "
========
My suggestion:
"We Need Feedback!
If you find an error in this manual, or if you think of a way to make
this manual better, we would love to hear from you!
To report an error or make a suggestion:
1. Visit Red Hat Bugzilla to enter a bug for Fedora Documentation:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/enter_bug.cgi?product=Fedora%20Documentation
2. Sign in with your Red Hat Bugzilla account, or create an account if
you do not already have one.
3. Select this manual (install-guide) from the list of Components.
4. Write a short summary of the error or suggestion in the Summary field.
5. Describe the error or suggestion in more detail in the Description
field. If you have a suggestion to improve the documentation, be as
specific as possible. If you have found an error, please include the
section number and some of the surrounding text so we can find it easily.
6. Click the Submit Bug button."
========
Other ideas or refinements welcome! What do you think?
Cheers

Paul,
Thanks for the information about becoming a successful new
contributor. As far as getting started on documentation would it be
appropriated for me to pick something off of the Task for New
Contributors
(https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Docs_Project_admin_tasks_for_new_contributors)
list? The only thing I see listed here that needs to be done is a
How-To wiki for editing IP-Tables. I wouldn't mind writing this up,
but wanted to check to make sure this okay with the group.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Robert V. Bolton and I would like to take this opportunity to
introduce myself. I've been a Fedora user for the past four years now,
and would like to begin contributing to the project. I currently have a
job as a systems administrator working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, so
I know the importance of good documentation. I feel that my experience
as a systems administrator can help with the Fedora documentation
project. I look forward to working with the rest of you. Thank you for
your time.
