I was able to get one of the errors to disappear by creating a symlink
from /usr/src/build/343500-i386/install/usr to /usr. It looks like at least
one of the packages was compiled with a wrong path.
On the main panel, most of the "Add to Panel" menu items are missing
items, and the Main Menu (with the 'red hat') lists nothing above 'Run
Application...' except for a separator bar.
The error I'm still getting is something about XKBD not loading, and a
suggestion that I use a simpler key configuration... This is a little
silly, as I'm getting this message from GNOME even though I'm running
XFree86 4.3.0 off CYGWIN, and my CYGWIN X session did not experience
these problems last week.
Will report more, if I get farther!
Cheers,
mark
