Adding a 'cvs' dependency to 'gettext' will upset a

It looks like the main need for gettext outside of
developers-and-translators may be using /bin/gettext from shell scripts -
moving that file into a 'gettext-utils' subpackage might be an easier and

And then just make gettext-utils part of the base system? It would seem
confusing to me to have gettext-utils, gettext, *and* gettext-devel...
I looked at autopoint, and it should be reasonably easy to get rid of
its
use of CVS by doing a checkout from archive.tar.gz at package build time
rather than runtime.
That'd be cool. Frankly gettext frightens me and I didn't want to even
try that :)
