I am interested in knowing why it would...
I was throwing darts over my shoulder. :-p
OK first thing I would check is where in the stack is this occuring:
Does startx with twm/fvwm2/simple thing work?
None were installed, so I did another yum upgrade and tried again. No change,
so I installed IceWM, which works, and from its xterm I was able to run Konsole.
If yes then I am expecting it is a KDE item and the kde lists will
be
needed to figure it out enough to punt back to the general list. EG KDE
doesn't like working with two videos for some reason.
If no then it is an X thing and hopefully the X people can help you find
out if it is a pure hard problem (your video card is no longer functioning
Its 11 year old onboard i865G works (subject to

and Tumbleweed/Factory/X11:XOrg (also 3.0.0git aka 2.99.917), and F20 and F21

correctly, needs some sort of microdriver update, etc) or is a
software
problem.
Must be software, either Intel 2.99.917-2 driver and/or Plasma and/or Xorg,
and only for this particular video hardware variety.
Or three the way you are starting a second startx only worked by
magic
before and some fix in the stack stopped the magic.

FYI, it's kinda pointless to test the KDE Plasma currently in
Rawhide/F22,
as the Plasma 5 import is coming very soon.
