The fact that spacing is hardwired into applications and specified by
*pixel* (look at the Gnome HIG) is really really broken. As we're
heading into an era of 300dpi LCD screens, this is going to have to be
fixed sooner or later... (I guess the cairo-ization is a step towards
this)
