You are addressing the wrong audience. The Linux desktop space is moving
in a direction where some parts of integration work is happening at the
desktop level instead of at the distributor / OS vendor level. That's
good, I think, since it means distributors pool their effort and we all
win. For example, the bulk of GNOME power management work was done by
Richard Hughes who is not employed by Red Hat. And, for the record,
people are already working on this for KDE too; here's one effort

I'm sure they would love some more help.
