Does smartrpm have equivalents to
apt-get source
apt-get build-dep
These are the features I like about apt and which make apt interesting
to me.
I know Gustavo showed interest in adding this kind of functionality. It
may depend on the back-end being used, some repo metadata does not support
source packages.
In the light of this discussion, it would be nice if Smart developped
mach/abe kind of functionality too. Especially since Smart's configuration
can be easily manipulated using smart on the commandline and it already
includes much of the infrastructure necessary.
Another feature I am missing in both apt and yum is a usable
--download-only operation.
apt-get has "-d" but insists on its "package name mangling",
(FC3's) yum
doesn't support it all, I don't know about smartrpm.
smart upgrade --download
You also have 'smart download' if you just want to download a set of
packages by name/glob.
