Even if people don't agree that "main" is better for other reasons, surely people can agree that "rawhide" is much better than "master" for our dist-git branch names for our RPMs, simply because it follows our naming conventions and makes things easier from that perspective. The only reason they were ever named "master" in the first place is because it was git's default name. Nobody chose it to be "master" for Fedora... we just accepted the tyranny of the default. We should have always had it named "rawhide". I'm not in favor of changing it to "main", because if we're interested in changing it, we should take the opportunity to use a better name... one that is meaningful to us... rather than just accept a new default naming convention that doesn't mean anything to us. "rawhide" has a special meaning in Fedora, but "main" doesn't. Let's use "rawhide".

I think it's easy for people to misunderstand what we are trying to do
here. I would encourage you to watch Rich Bowens nest talk:

To answer some of the points: This isn't about what the dictionary
definitions of the words mean, or that you personally don't find them
unwelcoming. It's about doing the right thing and showing that our
community is welcoming and we are willing to do some work to make it so.

If we had a pile of money could we find better ways to spend it? Sure!
But we don't. We have time and some adjustments to our workflows that we
can do right now to show we care and are not jerks. So, instead of doing
nothing, lets do this!
