I could not disagree more. In my experience, the registry is a
convoluted mess and a horrible single point of failure. It is so complex
that if it gets screwed up, the general solution is to "reinstall
windows"
I also don't like the idea of putting all the configuration into LDAP. I
like how easy to script plain text files. Doing changes in LDAP is much
more complicated (you have to create the LDIF file, and the LDIF format is
rather strict).
I really dissapprove putting the whole system configuration into a bunch of
binary files by default.
But LDAP is in my opinion something which sould be given a lot of attention.
Just not use it by default, please.
