In any case, supposedly you can just use
gcc -U__GNUC__ -U__GNUC_MINOR__ -U__GNUC_PATCHLEVEL__ -D__GNUC__=4 -D__GNUC_MINOR__=10
-D__GNUC_PATCHLEVEL__=0
instead of gcc, you don't need any hacks for that from the distro.
For Coverity I used this wrapper instead:

esac
either directly or through CCACHE_PREFIX.
