What's a "source look-aside" in this context?
Large binary files (like tarballs) are not stored in CVS, but on a
separate HTTP-based "look-aside cache server". It's where the Makefiles in
CVS upload/download them to/from. The files' names and checksums are
stored in CVS (in a file with the name "sources") together with the
package spec file, patch files, ...
