Well, I don't know if I would use the term "mess" - but snappy would be a paradigm
shift.   That in and of itself isn't necessarily a bad thing; but I think it's worthwhile to understand the
compelling business or technology driver.  Change simply for it's own sake isn't a reason.

Discussion of snappy is a bit of a detour from the original subject - which was 
the replacement of fedup by system packaging tools... which has identified the 
driver (fedup is not sustainable, systemd has the capabilities, etc.)
