I wonder how could someone would put a deadline on volunteers?
You can't :)
oh in the thread "Packages that will be orphaned" you can?
but for quality reasons not?
How would you make someone provide systemd-services if he/she
doesn't have a
systemd machine to play with?
You can't :).
KVM/VMware/VirtualBox exists
Why does pretty much every significant project switched to time-based
releases
instead of feature-based?
because they have forgotten the differnece between a commerical product
where the marketing forces release plans in a braindead manner and
to not need this was sometimes ago the real strength of open source
but in these days all must be released in a hurry for what reason?
Because that's the only sensible way you can deliver smth to your
users. And
yes I think that systemd was ready but there was no way to get every service
converted before it is in a released versions packagers can work with
systemd is not ready as long "systemctl start service" gives no feedback and
existibg sockets are starting servcies evenb if they are manually stopped
and this problem maybe would no longer exist if there would be a native
service for the fedora-package
but even then i fear Lennart will say as always that the services or
their service-files are bad and systemd does all right
