[rawhide] libavif soname bump
by Frantisek Zatloukal
In about a week (after mass rebuild before branching), I'll start with
bumping libavif in rawhide from 0.11.x to 1.0.3 (
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/libavif/pull-request/2 , soname bump
from 15 to 16). If I am not missing anything, it should mean ABI-only
change, so all the dependencies that aren't FTBFS should rebuild fine.
Should anything not build, I'll add a compat package not to cause any new
FTIs.
This would affect the following packages:
avif-pixbuf-loader
celestia-common
darktable
efl
gd
kf5-kimageformats
plasma-wallpapers-dynamic
python-imagecodecs
webkit2gtk4.0
webkit2gtk4.1
webkitgtk6.0
xpra
If any of the maintainers would prefer to do the rebuild themselves, please
do feel free to speak up, I'll send the side-tag id here before the rebuild
starts. Otherwise, I'll handle all the rebuilds.
I probably don't have to wait until the mass rebuild is finished, but doing
so will leave me with a calmer sleep.

In the fmt.spec you posted, I see
%mingw_cmake -G Ninja [...]
this means that you are generating ninja build scripts, not Makefiles.
If you want to use ninja, you should call
%mingw_ninja
after %mingw_cmake -G Ninja.
To generate Makefiles, call
%mingw_cmake
without the -G Ninja, and after this
%mingw_make_build

Looking for new maintainer for widelands
by Hans de Goede
Hi All,
I used to do a lot of gaming related Fedora packaging and I still maintain
over 200 pkgs, but I really don't have much time for Fedora package
maintainership anymore.
The last few years I have been limiting my package maintainership
to fixing FTBFS, which for many game packages is fine since they
are not seeing any new upstream releases.
Widelands however still has an active upstream and 6 months ago
a new version was released. I have been unable to find the time
to upgrade to this new release and I don't expect I will find
the time to do so in the near future.
So I hope someone else is willing to takeover as maintainer ?

Hans

Looking for a new maintainer for libcddb (used by vlc, qmmp, ...)
by Hans de Goede
Hi All,
After the recent filing of FTBFS bugs I noticed that I'm somehow
still the maintainer for libcddb.
I guess I never asked anyone to takeover since it has seen very
little activity (nor bugs filed against it) the last few years.
I really don't have much time for Fedora package maintainership
anymore, so I would appreciate it if someone can takeover
maintainership and fix the FTBFS bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2261305
Note that is the only open bug against libcddb.

Hans

if not then I'll have to orphan boswars.
Note boswars is currently also FTBFS I don't know if the new
upstream release will fix this, but I would start with rebasing
to the new upstream release.
There also is one ABRT bug when can be closed when updating
to the new release since the backtrace will be invalid for
the new version.

Looking for a new maintainer for Xaw3d
by Hans de Goede
Hi All,
I used to do a lot of gaming related Fedora packaging and I still maintain
over 200 pkgs, but I really don't have much time for Fedora package
maintainership anymore.
The last few years I have been limiting my package maintainership
to fixing FTBFS, which for many game packages is fine since they
are not seeing any new upstream releases.
Xaw3d is currently 1 minor release behing the latest upstream release
and I don't have the time to fix it (since this is just a minor bump
the rebase should be trivial).
Anyone interested in taking over Xaw3d maintainership from me ?

Hans
