/var/run/reboot-required
by Ruben Kerkhof
Hi all,
Debian and Ubuntu have a package called unattended-upgrades.
We have yum-cron which does something similar.
One difference though is that unattended-upgrade drops a script in
/etc/kernel/postinst.d/unattended-upgrades, which does this:
#!/bin/sh
if [ -d /var/run ]; then
touch /var/run/reboot-required
fi
Using Ansible, I can quickly see which servers need a reboot due to a
kernel upgrade.
I think this would be nice to have in Fedora as well, the only
question is which package
should provide it.
We have /etc/kernel/postinst.d too, but this directory is currently unowned.
So if I'd wanted to add this to some package, which one should it be
and what should it depend on?
Alternatively, I could create a new package, let's call it 'reboot-required'.
Thoughts?
Kind regards,

Problem configuring Fedora Notifications
by José Abílio Matos
Hi,
I send this here in case someone has seen this and if not where to report.
I want to configure the notifications to receive email for the messages I am
interested in.
I go to https://apps.fedoraproject.org/notifications/
and login.
Then I choose email and I add the email address I am interest in receiving the
notification messages.
In less than a minute I receive an email from notifications(a)fedoraproject.org
with a link to confirm the email address.
The problem occurs in the next step if I choose to accept I always get an
unauthorized access error from fas login:
401 - Unauthorized
Transaction expired, or cookies not available
Try to login again
This has happened to me always and now I would like to finally solve this
problem.
The issue here is that I do not know if the problem lies in Fedora
Notification or Fedora FAS Login.
Any help is appreciated, regards,
