I don't see an images dir (another one missing too, just don't recall
the name of it) with the boot.iso in the 64bit rawhide dir. I do see
one in the 386 dir though. Are we suppose to use the 386 one even for
64bit or do we need to wait for a good build and use the one for 64?

As a member of FESCo, I'm leading an effort to improve the spins
process for F11. At the time that the F10 beta came around, no one
seemed to know what spins we were to produce to be hosted on
spins.fp.o, what process they had been through (Spins SIG, Board
trademark, rel-eng). We also inadvertently wound up requesting that
rel-eng produce spin using a toolchain that they had never heard of
before. As a result of this, the need for improvement became
immediately obvious to me.
If you're interested in this topic, we will be having a meeting,
hopefully sometime this week, via conference call. The reason for
holding this meeting via conference call rather than IRC is the
massively increased bandwidth that's available on a conference call to
actually discuss items - while IRC is wonderful for taking votes on
things that have already been thought out, it can't be used for a sort
of "working session".
What I need is *a volunteer* from each of the below groups to attend
this call. The reason for a single (or at most two) people from each
group is to facilitate an efficient, manageable call that stands a
fighting chance of accomplishing something :)
I'll also be reaching out to Bryan Kearney, who has some experience
going through this process, and some suggestions for refinement.
Note that we will be using a public whiteboard (most likely the Fedora
sobby instance), and the minutes of the call will be made public.
I have a lot of seemingly pulse audio related issues on my F9 desktop.
Since I really like the idea behind Pulseaudio, I would like to see
these get sorted out, and would like to know how I can help in terms
of providing useful information.
Here is my situation
* Sounblaster Live 5.1 PCI -- has full 6 channel audio before, I had
for a short while after enabling it as per the pulseaudio wiki, but no
* Tvtime -- no audio (doing `padsp sox -r 48000 -w -c 2 -t ossdsp
/dev/dsp -t ossdsp /dev/dsp` works, but causes noticeable lag)
* Amarok (xine) -- audio, susceptible to crashes, esp when I scroll to
fast in Firefox
* Kopete -- used to work, mysteriously stopped working
* Konversation -- never worked
* Mythfront -- no sound yet (haven't followed
* V4L tv capture card -- no sound now, used to rely on capturing AUX
on sound card before
* PulseAudio -- seems to average 30% CPU usage when playing music,
doesn't like me using Firefox too much (seems like a resource issue)
Things I use, albeit infrequently, but just work:
What information should I gather, how, and where should I present it?
I'm guessing at this point you have more than enough bug reports, but
maybe not enough data.

When I build the new version of PackageKit today, it will have a new
This provides the optional binary /usr/libexec/pk-gstreamer-install
which is symlinked to gst-install-plugins-helper.
This means we get UI like this
http://packagekit.org/img/gpk-client-codecs.png rather than being
prompted to pay for codecs using codeina.
Should I just add:
Obsoletes: codeina < 0.10.1-8
Provides: codeina = 0.10.1-8
to the gstreamer-plugin part of the spec file and be done away with
codeina? This would allow people to remove PackageKit-gstreamer-plugin
and install codeina if they really wanted, but by default we get the
"right" thing installed for the release.
Also, we can't do an "everything" install, as both packages provide the
gst-install-plugins-helper file. One option might be for the gstreamer
package to install a bash script gst-install-plugins-helper, which
directs to either codeina, or PackageKit.
So what I'm really asking is, do we really want people to be able to:
1. use codeina in F10
2. install PackageKit-gstreamer-plugin and codeina at the same time
I'm using the current rawhide version of Evolution and have found that
I'm having mixed fortunes expunging folders. Sometimes they will,
sometimes they won't.
When it fails, all I get it "Failed to expunge" on the message bar.
Any ideas on how to clear my folders?
