Disable a USB device?
by Chris Adams
While poking at powertop and reading online, I saw a good bit of wakeups
from USB. I read a recommendation to remove all USB devices to lower
wakeups, but I have a Thinkpad with a fingerprint reader built-in. Is
there a way to disable an unused USB device so that it acts like it has
been unplugged?
Otherwise, USB wakes up 4 times per second for no particular reason (no
other USB devices are attached).

Yet another sa_restorer bug
by Oliver Falk
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=426024
This is the second sa_restorer bug I filed. However.
I can only ask all of you to check if your pkgs do use signal.h and if,
check if they do use sa_restorer.
Maybe someone volunteers to do a grep over all sources!? And list the
pkgs here!? Someone already did a similar job after the introduction of
FORITIFY_SOURCE=2 with glibc's open check... I would do so myself, but I
don't have the ressources at the moment...
Well, I'd be happy to not see any build problems because of this again :-)

libgpod update for F-7 and F-8 (attn: amarok, elisa, exaile, gpodder, kipi-plugins, quodlibet, and rhythmbox maintainers)
by Todd Zullinger
So, libgpod-0.6.0 has stewed in rawhide for several weeks without any
bug reports. Either no one with a rawhide install has tested any apps
using it, or it's proved reasonably stable. :) (I do have a report
that updates I'd made for F-7 were working for one user of a new iPod,
FWIW.)
I'd like to push libgpod to updates-testing for F-7 and F-8 so that
all those folks picking up new iPods can be supported. If there are
no objections, I'll prepare the update and rebuild deps as needed, say
on Wednesday.

FUDCon -- considering switching Fri/Sat schedules
by Max Spevack
All,
As we try to finalize the logistics for FUDCon, it looks like it will be
a lot easier from a space point of view if we make the actual barcamp
day Saturday (instead of Friday), and use Friday and Sunday for the
Hackfests. I also think we can get a better turnout at bar camp if it
is on Saturday.
What we want to know is: does this totally mess up anyone's plans? None
of the dates actually change, just the agenda a little bit.
Let me know off-list. If there's no major concerns, we'll turn this
from 'proposal' to 'official' on Monday and update the main barcamp
page.
Thanks,
Max
