by Dario Lesca
Start wit CD-ROM with this options:
linux askmethod vnc vncconnect=myhost
linux vesa
linux vesa askmethod (install from NFS server)
linux
Anaconda ask me ip in text mode the IP and nfs host, then start X.
X start but not show Welcome messages, the mouse move the X cursor but
none appear an I can't procede with setup.
I switch to CTR+ALT+F2, the ps -fea show a process of anaconda witch use
all CPU....
See log attach ....
Now I am installing fc5 and all work great.
If someone send me some suggest, some boot options, ecc. I can test it
Many thanks to all

gd and static libraries
by Dawid Gajownik
Hi!
I just wanted to ask whether we need gd static libs? Is there any good
reason to have them? From the security point of view it would be better
to get rid of them...

Dawid

time to resurrect red hat database?
by Marius Andreiana
Greetings
5 years ago Red Hat introduced RHDB
http://www.redhat.com/about/presscenter/2001/press_database.html
(PostgreSQL + graphical tools with commercial support)
After a while it got really quiet about it, I thought because of
agreements with Oracle. Given the recent Oracle attacks against RH,
would it be time for RH to resurrect red hat database?
PostgreSQL has a lot of enterprise features. Tools like Visual Explain
also help developers. A critical piece for developers is still missing -
physical modeling diagram building tool, with ddl changes (e.g. dia
+zongle) and visual code editing for stocked
procedures/functions/packages. However, PostgreSQL is enterprise ready
and seems it's a good time for RH to market it and start new open source
tools for developers (maybe as Eclipse plugins).
What's the RH developers opinion?
Thanks,

Patch: USB storage not seen upon reboot
by Pete Zaitcev
Hi, Dave:
I am sorry to ask, but would you mind carrying the patch in FC6?
Upstream (Greg) is ignoring me. I think there was some kind of
meeting in Portland, and he was buried or other. I promise to
resolve this permanently for FC7, so it's not a forever split patch.
This is for bz#212191.
Yours,
-- Pete

renaming of SHA1SUM in iso directory
by Till Maas
Hiyas,
I want to propose to rename the file SHA1SUM in the iso directory in something
more meaningful like for example:
FC-7.sha1.gpg
for Fedora Core 7. It is file with a gpg signature in it, for this reason
the .gpg suffix and after opening it with gpg it is a file containing sha1
signatures and therefore the .sha1 suffix. The FC-7 shows directly where the
files belongs to.
