Anaconda (kickstart handling) idea.
by Naoki
Hi all,
I've got one idea and one problem, first the idea is I want pass
something like this upon booting from CD :
"linux ks=http://website/"
And then I want anaconda to show me the directory listing and let me
select a kickstart file.
The problem I have is I don't know python. I'm looking inside stage 2
and I'm taking a gander at "usr/lib/anaconda/kickstart.py" but I think
I'm in the wrong place.
Could anybody point me in the right direction?

GStreamer packages for Fedora Core 2
by Thomas Vander Stichele
The GStreamer repository for FC2 has been created.
The repository includes most GStreamer plugins, the editor, the player,
the python bindings, gstreamer-ffmpeg and gstreamer-monkeysaudio.
Check out http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/download/fedora.html for
instructions. These packages are built against fedora.us and livna.org
packages, and will be submitted to those repositories as well.
Feel free to report bugs to me personally if they're packaging-related,
or in bugzilla.gnome.org if they're code-related.
Enjoy

How about swig?
Maybe questions like this should be on the fedora-list.

Well, I attend a few upstream fora, but I do not intend to attend all
fora for packages I have an issue with.

I thought I'd give it a try anyway.

Fixed? I just recreated that crash. Or am I interpreting the following
incorrectly?:
#3 <signal handler called>
#4 0x00aa8548 in pango_layout_iter_get_char_extents ()
from /usr/lib/libpango-1.0.so.0
Are you sure we are speaking of the same issue? If it was fixed then
where, when and how was it fixed?
Are you telling me the "major amount of work" you mention in
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89541 has already been done?

No. I've always seen the junk characters. I really believe you are
referring to a different issue. Please check the bug reports for details
to make sure we are speaking of the same issue.
Leonard.

Im aware of the rights the GPL gives me and also of the restrictions it
imposes. My point was that Fedora pop's up a window with a Licence
I need to accept before I can start using the product. (again, I havent
tried to refuse here, so I cant say what happens)
Which is prehaps a bad thing, considering this clause from the GPL:
"5. You are not required to accept this License, since you have not signed
it. However, nothing else grants you permission to modify or distribute the
Program or its derivative works. These actions are prohibited by law if you
do not accept this License. Therefore, by modifying or distributing the
Program (or any work based on the Program), you indicate your acceptance of
this License to do so, and all its terms and conditions for copying,
distributing or modifying the Program or works based on it."
I can imagine whats going thru the heads of people not familiar with the
GPL and see that legal-speak window pop up. "What Freedom?" :)

FC2 Release Notes not yet posted to the main page.
Package List for FC2 not yet posted.
http://fedora.redhat.com/projects/package-list/ still lists FC1 only.
Just a few details that I am sure someone is looking into... but
shouldn't slip through the cracks for too long. Neither were mentioned
in the announce-list posting either.. have I missed them?
