/proc/bus/usb ??
by Brian Millett
I'm guessing that I should know this, sorry, but with the last initscripts
update, I now get a message like
"can't find /proc/bus/usb in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab"
I have googled to see what should be in /etc/fstab and have found four
variations.
usbdev /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs defaults 0 0
usbdevfs /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs noauto 0 0
none /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs defaults 0 0
/proc/bus/usb /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs defaults 0 0
What should I have? I do have a /proc/bus/usb that is populated.
Thanks.

Uhú! That very good news !
I really wanted to see a UniConf backend to Elektra :-)

Yep. Give it a try.

We had to do in C due to the project objectives we set.

:-(
I don't think so....
Well, people have a tendency to like what is its own, and dislike others.
The API is very low level, similar to base OS calls. It has to be this way.

Thats because its completely decentralized nature, as far as I can
think about. If you have a daemon you can intercept changes and avoid
polling.

Hummmm... good idea. Will think about it in the flight I have to take
this afternoon. :-)

Absolut abvious and good idea. How I didn't think about it !
In the end of the flight it will be done.
> Hey, Avi, can you convert apache next? Or how about samba? :)
Apache is veeeery difficult, but possible. Samba is easy.
But I'm thinking right now to unify KConfig and GConf backends and
global settings namespace. So font, colors, etc global options will be
shared, and a Gnome app will be able to configure a KDE app. I think
you already have it in UniConf, right? I'll look for your sources
soon. After this, I'll probably dive on Samba.

OT: automating gui apps
by Hans de Goede
Hi,
Sorry for posting OT, but I'm hoping that with the acumulated wisdom on
this list someone can help me.
I've got this propietary motif application which uses a propietary
database from which I want to export some data. I can export this data
from the motif gui by selecting the right item from the menu, entering a
filename, etc.
So my question is is there aay way to record mouse movements and
mousebutton/key presses under X and replay those automaticly, the replay
preferrably under Xvfb?
Thanks,
Hans

Can anybody give me some info about inodes?
by Kaustubh Ghosh
Hi all,
I am new to this list and I have a question:
Can anyone please tell me the answers to the following:
1.How many inodes are there in a single block ?
2.After a inode is deleted , is it appended to the end of free inodes list?
3.Is there any preference in which the inodes are allocated in choosing
between inodes that has never been allocated and inodes which were once
allocated but are now free?
4.Doess the data in an inode remains unchanged when it is deleted?
Please consider the ext2 file system while answering my query
It would help me immensely if I get the answers to the above. Thanks in advance
for all the help you can give.
Thanks,
Kaustubh Ghosh

sources for up2date
by Otto Haliburton
Does anyone know of a great list of repositories to put in the sources
file for up2date, as well as a excellant yum.conf. Plus the ideal
repositories for yum.repo.d directory. I have been looking for the
definitive list and found one after a search but unfortunately have been
unable to relocate it

stateless linux
by Jason Powers
I have it all set, snapshot set up and everything, but it doesn't load
the diskless client. I've been in and through the very vanilla config I
used, and through all the scripts in /usr/share/stateless/ it seems to
trip when it attempts to create the pxelinux.0, and the pxe.config
directory remains empty. The hourly script statelessGenPXEConfig.py
returns the error:
Unable to get provisioning information for MA:CA:DD:RE:SS
I checked the ldap and all entries are presnt and pointed at the right
place, what's next?
