That may not be appropriate in this particular case but I think the
needs
of the Fedora project have to come before upstream.
Divergence may not be necessary and is always a maintenance burden. So
you work primarily in the space of upstream projects for core development
and focus within Fedora should be as a point of integration and
projects/infrastructure that help with that.
