Greetings, my name is Alejandro Lopez from Slimbook Computers and I'm writing this email following Matthew's advice. We are hardware company committed to the flawless integration and improvement of the end user experience with the Linux OS and the hardware it runs on. We were given the chance to work together with the KDE team back in 2016 when other laptop brands didn't even think about it, and after getting the approval from both parties, the objective of our collaboration was the birth of a modern and sleek device that excelled in performance and provided a flawless user experience for the community. The intent of this email is to let you know that the current demand for your amazing Fedora distribution is 2% from all our orders, and we think that this should change. I've sent to Matthew some general reports on which distros are currently in demand from our customers, and KDE Neon had an exponential growth versus other distros. What are your thoughts on this situation? I believe that we should work something out together to fix this. I think we should do more than offer Fedora as just another operating system (the user can choose up to 12 distributions). gnome-shell crash when resuming/waking up from idle

Hi folks, I wonder if I'm the only one who sees an occasional gnome-shell crash on Fedora 37 when the system is resumed from suspend, or possibly even woken up from idle (screen turned off)? It happens to me a few times per week, completely randomly, I can't reproduce it intentionally. I reported the crash here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2127826 And this might be the upstream issue: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/5832 It might be caused by gnome-shell-extension-appindicator-42-3.fc37.noarch, but given how seldomly it happens, it's hard for me to verify that.

Release criteria proposal: require GNOME Shell extension install/remove to work

Hey folks! So a bug came up at today's blocker review meeting: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2106868 it takes a minute to parse, but the tl;dr is that right now in Fedora 37, you can't go to https://extensions.gnome.org and install extensions. We agreed that it doesn't violate any existing release criteria, but to me, this is actually kind of a significant problem. Anecdotally, I get the impression that a lot of our Workstation users do use extensions, and not being able to easily install them on a fresh install would be a big problem for them, and make us look pretty bad. We have a handful of extensions packaged, though I'm not sure how well they're kept up to date. Aside from those, I don't know of any other really practical way for regular users to install extensions besides https://extensions.gnome.org . Is there one? Assuming for now that there isn't, I'm gonna propose this as a Final release criterion to see how people feel about it, to come after "Default panel functionality": ##### === GNOME extensions === On Fedora Workstation, it must be possible to install and remove extensions by visiting https://extensions.gnome.org in the default web browser, after installing the required browser extension. ##### Do folks think this is important enough to block Final release on?
