Hi folks!
You may have noticed over the past few weeks Tatica has stepped up as the default wallpaper wrangler for Fedora 16, and Patrick Connelly has stepped up as the supplemental wallpaper wrangler for Fedora 16.
I was wondering if there are any Fedora ambassadors on this list who are also Fedora design team members who would be willing to step up into a formal 'events liasion' role. This would involve coordinating between the design team and ambassadors to make sure, as we get closer to Fedora 16's release, that the ambassadors will have all the materials they need from design to ship and attend events. This might also involve some clean up / organization of existing events materials to make it easier for ambassadors to find the materials we've already created for them.
Events liasion is an okay title of course, but if you'd prefer 'Executive Events Ninja' or 'Events Panda' or whatnot, we can be flexible, right? :)
Let me know, ~m
Hi All,
I am an FAm and also in the design team. I like to be a volunteer. I would like to take this role. I can help my FAms to get the right promotion materials on the right time and I can inform the Design team about the need. Specially FUDcons and FAD and release parties and other events as well.
see ya

as I'm on design team as well as on ambassadors and marketing, I'd volunteer on that job.
Just a thought: If there are more people volunteering, it might be useful to split up for different regions? (APAC, EMEA, LATAM)
Regards, vinz.
Buddhika thx for step up!
Vinzenz, I think is a good idea, but I will rather to divide the work by regions "if more wranglers step up too". In the case we only have Buddhika right now, he could find more people to help him and sub-divide the work with several sub-wranglers.
In this case, I would suggest that Buddhika (or the wrangler) set a "group of sub-wrangles" by region or kind of event (premiere, releases, etc) and subdivide the work. We have seen that with this new ideas, dividing in groups we have been archieving more goals than ever... so, divide and conquer :)

So: are two persons enough to split the work up or should we get some more?
vinz.
Don't have idea if are enough, but is better than none :P Every little step is a way to begin

Since you guys both expressed interest why not start out with the two of you and see how it goes? Maybe Vinz, you could take EMEA, Buddhika could take APAC, and you could both split the Americas? Some of the stuff you'll want to think about:
- What FUDcons are upcoming and do they have the resources they need? (Samuele is covering the needed signage/designs for Milan I think, There is an APAC FUDcon under discussion now, right?)
- Any upcoming non-FUDcon events in the Ambassadors queue across regions that might need help?
- Any tickets in our ticket system for Ambassadors that need to be taken care of?
Also, you need to decide which one of you becomes the design team events ninja and which one becomes the design team events pirate! ;-)

I can do EMEA if two isn't enough.

To keep the mailing list clean and for permanent keeping of the ideas I set up a wiki page: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Design/Events_Ninjas
So, everyone is invited to fill it with further content.
vinz.
Hi,
Nice to see the interest.
I like to work with Vietzke, will have a discussion and see how the things can be arranged fellah. As M proposed I can take care of APAC and EMEA is for Vietzke. Vietzke, will meet soon.
see you guys.
PS: My first intention is to categorize the existing promotion materials we have at the moment, like Release party materials, FUDcons, FADs, other events, Tshirt designs and so on.
Hey awesome!!!
to talk about FUDcon EMEA artwork please join me this friday at 15UTC , irc.freenode #Fudcon-Planning
What we are doing I think can be done for all Fudcons, is a schedule with variable dates that can be adjusted to any event, and will help a lot to guide designer to have everything in time. Is not done, but as I'm withot interne tI wil try to finish it for this friday meeting
:D
Okay
How does 15UTC compute for someone in +1UTC? sent from mobile device

Not sure if I can make it. I'll read meeting notes if I'm not in the meeting.
vinz.
Hi all,
as you can see on Ambassadors meeting notes [1] I was there and gave a short report on the events ninjas. So the Ambassadors should know about the new possibility for getting support of the design team now.
Just to keep you up to date. vinz.

At this point I'd really like to thank * Vinzenz and Buddhika for stepping up and * Mo for the idea and her initiative.
I am convinced this will help us ambassadors a lot!

Awesome, I'm so glad everyone seems excited about this. :) We're off to a great start!
I added the Events Ninjas page to the front of the Design team wiki page:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Design#UX_Designers
I think the front Design page still needs some cleaning up to reflect our new 'strategery' from our last meeting but this is some progress towards that :) Thanks for taking the initiative to start the Event Ninjas wiki page!
