We'd like a Fedora Summer Coding 2010 t-shirt design. This is something
being given to the students, mentors, and organizers of the program this
year.
The design could be a straight-forward Fedora design. Other summer coding
programs make a new design for each season. We can choose to depart from
a standard Fedora T-shirt look, create something entirely new, or base it
on a solid existing design.
One important piece of information is that we will be renaming the program
by the end of the summer (August 2010.) This is because the program runs
in seasons other than summer and involves contributions other than code.
So, not knowing what the new name will be, we can choose to make a
timeless one-off design or something that is modular to fit the new name
for next season.
Here is the program information page:

== A few requirements ==
Sponsor logos in some location. JBoss Community is the other funding
sponsor, and there may be one additional company that sponsored a few
specific ideas. Transifex is a community sponsor, so their logo would be
next in a list.
Expect that the shirts will be sized from S to XXL.
I can interface with a Fedora designer and the folks from the JBoss
Community and Indifex, about getting logos in SVG format and other
brand/logo requirements.

Hi,
There is a new website called Fedora Community (fedoracommunity.org) which
will list links to Fedora community run websites. In order to keep
branding consistent, I'm requesting a logo that is similar to the one
visible in the Spins website (spins.fedoraproject.org).
Talking to mizmo, she suggested to use the new font type for the logo.
If there are any questions, please let me know.
Thanks.

THIS TICKET CANNOT BE COMPLETE WITHOUT TICKET 138 BEING COMPLETE.
For this task, we'd like you to look up the emails for each Fedora Planet
poster on the 'missing hackergotchi' list from ticket #138. A good tool to
do this is Fedora Community: visit
http://admin.fedoraproject.org/community, sign in with your FAS account,
and search for the users there to get their email addresses.
Once you have the email addresses for each Fedora Planet user with a
missing hackergotchi, we'd like you to send an email message to all of
them letting them know:
* The Fedora Design team noticed that they do not have a hackergotchi on
Planet Fedora.
* The Fedora Design team runs a service whereby Fedora contributors may
request that a hackergotchi is designed for them.
* If they would like to request that a hackergotchi be created for them,
they should file a request at https://fedorahosted.org/design-
team/newticket, selecting 'hackergotchi request' as the type at the top of
the ticket.
* They should also attach a photo of themselves to the ticket that we can
use to make the hackergotchi. Nicu will be writing a blog post on what
types of photos work best, so you can refer to that blog post when it's
done.
* Let them know that once they have received their hackergotchi, the
instructions to start using it on planet are available here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Planet#How_to_join_the_Planet
This task is from the design team meeting on 29 June 2010.

As we hit the mid-term point for the Google Summer of Code in Fedora, an
idea came up of a simple way to draw attention to GSoC planet posts. By
comparison, GNOME has this badge that appears under the hackergotchi of
the student:
http://planet.gnome.org/heads/logos/gsoc2009.png
Another idea I like is a banner/ribbon that is mounted directly within the
hackergotchi, such as this one for FUDCon:
http://quaid.fedorapeople.org/images/quaid-fudcon_ribbon-122x69.png
And can we get Marketing to help us get the word out about these kind of
cool tricks to show when people are involved in an important, short-lived
Fedora event such as a FAD or FUDCon?
We may need some hackergotchi services if any of the GSoC students are
stuck without one; I'll be sure to send them here for help. :)

We'd like to advertise the hackergotchi service more and make users aware
of it. We'd also like to help them help us do a good job on the
hackergotchi, and also help them understand what we think makes a good
hackergotchi so they can know what to expect.
For this task, we'd like you to create a blog post on Planet Fedora all
about hackergotchi. Here are the main points you'll need to cover to
successfully complete this ticket:
1 - What are hackergotchi? Why are they important?
2 - What makes a good hackergotchi? Show a few examples and provide
specific points on each that demonstrate why it is a good hackergotchi.
3 - Give some information on general hackergotchi guidelines. 120x120px is
what the design team agreed on in our 29 June 2010 meeting. Hackergotchi
do not usually have necks. They are of the user's head without any
background in the picture, ideally the background is transparent. They
usually have a drop shadow. Any other guidelines you can think of would be
great to list here.
4 - Talk about what makes for a good hackergotchi photo. Maybe tips on
taking a good photo for them?
5 - Make a pitch for the Fedora Design team hackergotchi service. Explain
that we use trac to track them; If they would like to request that a
hackergotchi be created for them, they should file a request at
https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/newticket, selecting 'hackergotchi
request' as the type at the top of the ticket. They should also attach a
photo of themselves to the ticket that we can use to make the
hackergotchi. Remind them of the good photo guidelines above when
selecting a photo to attach to the ticket.

Referring to the attached file [tcp_flow.png], I need a Fedorized image to
convey the same concept. Basically a 3-step TCP connection process, with
the packet types included, to establish (in this case) an SSH connection.
This is for the OpenSSH guide.
Thanks!
