Hi,
David Tardon pointed out several duplicate bugs reported on
OpenOffice.org component. The problem is in the way how the top-level
duplicate hash is computed: package + executable + backtrace. ABRT is
supposed to merge all crashes with the same backtrace within one
component into single Bugzilla bug, because identical backtrace implies
that the problem is in shared code. So the duplicate hash should be
computed from component + backtrace.
makes sense, if some apps share the same core (like OO does) and the the
crash has the same bt, then it's probably safe to blame it on
component.. but I'm not sure if we should change the hash again, I know
it wont do a noticeable amount of dupes, but I'd be more happy if can at
least for some time have some compat code which will use even the old
hash to search for dupes... what do you think?
J.
Do you see any issues with the new way?
Thanks.
