Hi,
I would like to request the subdomain latam.fedoracommunity.org to the LATAM community website. Below are the details of the request:
Responsibles: Daniel Bruno (dbruno), Alejandro Perez (aeperezt). Address: fedora-latam.org
Let me know if more information is needed.

Hi Daniel, could you also refer what should happen with all the other subdomains for LATAM? I guess this request is for spanish speaking LATAM Fedora users, but what should happen to those communities which are actually on a non working proyectofedora.org domain? Maybe this is useful to the council too. Thanks.
Hi,
In the last meeting we agreed to ask for the main domain for the region, and the page will be in spanish and portuguese, that are the most spoken languages in the region. Also we agreed to standardize all webpages that are maintained by ambassadors, for this we'll check those pages and ask the subdomains, the first step is the regional subdomain. Recently we lost the ownership of the domain proyectofedora.org, and the domain was registered by a reseller, and we don't consider pay for it.
Regards,

Fedora being a trademark registered by Red Hat, is this something we should signal to Legal? IIRC, there is a contract to sign with Legal when registering a domain name with Fedora in it.

Correct, the applicable rules are here:

Hi,
Latam was using this domain proyectofedora.org for many years, the domain owner stop supporting it (domain not been paid, server down, etc). We do not want to use that domain as it has been an issue with with for years and want to move forward. The main idea of this request is to change this page that has bunch of broken links.

I have a fedora-web patch that will do the trick, attached. However, it would be good to know if the communities in the various nations (Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Peru) would like additional landing pages on fedora-latam.org.
Also, it would be good to determine whether the owner of fedora-latam.org has a trademark license agreement, and if not, get them covered by one, for the reasons shown in the page I linked earlier.
Some of the countries will have that request we were talking and some of them will request domains at like cl.fedoracommunity.org, but we are talking about that.
On the other hand Fedora-latam.org and Fedora-pa.org has no trademark agreement since I own both domains I can do it with no issue if you point me to the right dirección, furthermore I like to pass those domains to Fedora o Red Hat if it works better for the community.

We don't intend to use the domain fedora-latam.org as a domain, but the domain latam.fedoracommunity.org. I think that fedora-latam.org can be used as cname entry on the DNS, and all the countries that don't have a domain will use latam.fedoracommunity.org/<contry>.
After that, to standardize and to avoid problems with the misuse of the name, we'll advise the other countries that have a own domain to ask for a subdomain too.
In the path, a substitution like s/fedora-latam/latam.fedoracommunity/ should match with what we are asking.

Sorry about the confusion. Forget that patch then! :-)
One more tip: It would be nice for the landing domain to have up to date content, if that's going to be the server currently at fedora-latam.org. There's some outdated material there such as naming for Fedora 20 currently.
Yeah, unfortunately the content is outdated and there is other issues with this page, but we'll work to upload a new page with updated content and design following the guidelines to attend the local needs. :-)
Thank you
