Hello,
my name is Natale, and I write you here in order to ask you if Fedora could be formally interested to join and sign the campaign "Public Money Public Code" launched by FSFE [1], which aim is to promote and support by the law the binomial between publicly funded software and Free & Open Source software. [2]
Together with other supporting organisations [3], the FSFE is spreading this concept through an open letter [4] to be signed by worldwide citizens, addressed to their respective countries legislators.
At the moment, I don't see Fedora in that list [3], while there are also distro like Debian and OpenSuse.
Do you think this initiative could be interesting also for Fedora and Fedora People? Operating systems are at the base of software development, joining those folks for this particular aspect looks nice :)
What do you think about?
Thanks
Cheers, Natale

Hello Natale,
I thought the same as you and open a council ticket, thanks for writing on the mailing list regarding this campaign. I'm really glad that we share the same idea :)
Cheers, Jona

I had no idea on where to write about it, but I am really glad to see that other ppl here share the feeling :)
+1 here! I wish we'll see the same initiative in other regions as well, other than Europe :)

This seems like a statement that's pretty easy for Fedora to get behind. I'll make sure we discuss it at an upcoming meeting.

Thanks Matthew!
Is there any update on this?
Natale

The Council approved the position. I emailed the contact address on the site saying so and asking what steps to take next to get our name on the list and am waiting to hear back.

Hi Matthew,
I've asked also there and it looks that email was dispatched in some wrong queue in the system, they should come back to you soon :)
Thanks,
Natale

Hello guys,
it looked that email went in spam, now FSFE folks should have replied to Matthew and so the support should be ready to be finally formally realized :)

Yep! Getting the right-sized logo from design and then we should be good to go.
